What exactly is this?
The Big Bass Bash is a competition bass fishing tournament open to any anglers who would like to participate. This year marks the second time this event has taken place, after last year more than 150 anglers from all over Texas and other southern states participated.

This year’s event is Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13.
Where is the Big Bass Bash?
The competition is held on Lake Palestine, with our home base at Lake Palestine Resort in Frankston, Texas. Lake Palestine is 18 miles long from tip to tip and it covers 25,560 acres in a beautiful stretch in East Texas.
Where can I stay if I’m coming in from out of town?

Is this event open to anyone?
Absolutely! Whether you’re a newcomer to fishing or are on the lake as often as possible, you’re eligible to register and participate. How much money can I win?
We thought you’d never ask. Here are the payouts for the top five overall bass:
- First place: $10,000
- Second place: $2,000
- Third place: $1,500
- Fourth place: $1,250
- Fifth place: $1,000
In addition, $1,200 is paid out each hour of the tournament for hourly weigh-ins. Here are the payouts for the top five fish weighed in on each hour:
- First place: $500
- Second place: $250
- Third place: $200
